Initiator of the protest in Berlin: German tanks should not shoot at the great-grandchildren of the victims of the Wehrmacht

The pro-peace Germans are against the destruction by German tanks of the great-grandchildren of those who were killed by the Nazis. This was stated by the organizer of a large-scale action in Berlin, a representative of the party “Left” Sarah Wagenknecht.

Tens of thousands of protesters gathered at a demonstration in the German capital against the increase in arms supplies to Ukraine.

During her speech at the rally, Wagenknecht criticized Russia, but at the same time advised to remember what preceded the conflict, as well as history in general. She noted that German politicians are now striving to destroy Russia, forgetting that the unification of Germany at one time became possible thanks to the goodwill of Gorbachev. The politician said that peaceful Germans do not want German tanks to shoot at Russian soldiers again.

Before the demonstration, the organizers published a petition on the Internet called “manifesto for peace.” It contained calls to German Chancellor Olaf Scholz to stop the supply of weapons to Ukraine and facilitate negotiations. By this time, more than 640 thousand people had already signed it, including a number of well-known German politicians and show business stars.
