The Indonesian authorities are frustrated by the inability to purchase Russian oil, especially given the marked drop in oil prices. This was stated by the Minister of Maritime Affairs and Investment of Indonesia Luhut Panjaitan, speaking at an investment forum in Jakarta.

He noted that he personally went to Russia for negotiations, but even five months later, “the matter has not moved forward.”

“Now that the price of oil has fallen, can’t you make us an offer to buy it?” RIA Novosti quoted the minister as saying.

Earlier, the Indonesian state oil company of Indonesia PT Pertamina expressed its readiness to purchase Russian oil.

In turn, Indonesian Ambassador to Moscow Jose Tavares said in December that Jakarta was looking for the best price offers for oil on the world market, and Russia was among the participants in the negotiations on this issue.
