Indonesia commented on Putin’s refusal to come to the G20 summit

The Indonesian authorities respectfully accepted Russian President Vladimir Putin’s refusal to attend the G20 summit in Bali in person, Indonesian Ambassador to Russia Jose Antonio Morato Tavares said.
According to him, Jakarta understands that there were grounds for this.
“We respect … President Putin’s decision to stay in Moscow and not go to the summit,” the ambassador said.
The diplomat said that, in general, the event was held successfully, despite all the difficulties, and the planned goals were achieved. According to him, the Indonesian authorities made every effort to ensure that the G20 summit was held at the highest level.
He also stated that his country is going to continue to strengthen relations with Russia in many areas – political, economic, cultural and humanitarian.
The G20 summit was held November 15-16 in Indonesia. The Russian delegation was headed by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Finance Minister Anton Siluanov.
