India unveils its own hypersonic missile

India has unveiled its own Rudram 3 hypersonic missile at DEFEXPO 2022, Indian Defense News reports.
The defense exhibition DEFEXPO 2022 is considered the largest in Asia. The 12th exhibition was held from 18 to 22 October in Gandhinagar.
Among the new products that were presented at the exhibition, Indian Defense News calls the Rudram 3 hypersonic missile. Rudram 3 is an air-to-ground missile system, the characteristics declared by the developers are a range of 550 km, a speed of more than Mach 5.
Its development program began in 2017, and development tests were scheduled for 2022. As reported, 20 test missiles were built. It is planned to use this missile on all Indian Air Force fighters.
Currently, hypersonic weapons are in service with the Armed Forces of Russia and China, and work on the development of hypersonic weapons is also underway in the United States, France, and Japan.
