India conducts first rocket launch as part of a manned space mission

The first rocket launch of India’s future manned space mission Gaganyaan was successful. writes edition of Indian Express.
“Today, the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) successfully completed the first of a series of test flights of a mission that will add India to the small and exclusive list of countries that can launch a manned spacecraft,” the publication reported.
According to ISRO chief S. Somanath, the launch was postponed from 8:00 (05:30 Moscow time) to 8.45 (6:15 Moscow time) due to weather conditions, but the engine did not start. After eliminating the causes, the rocket launch took off at 10:00 (07:30 Moscow time). The crew recovery system successfully separated the crew module from the launch vehicle. After parachuting, he splashed down in the Bay of Bengal.
The ultimate goal of the Gaganyaan mission, reports The Times of India, to send Indian astronauts into space for a three-day mission in low Earth orbit at an altitude of 400 km and return them safely to Earth in 2025.
Earlier in August, Shri Nilesh M. Desai, Director of the Space Application Center of the Indian Space Department in Ahmedabad notedthat the preparation of India’s first manned space mission, Gaganyaan, was carried out, among other things, with the support of Roscosmos, which conducted training with potential Indian spacecraft pilots in 2019-2020.
