The Armed Forces of Ukraine (APU) again fired at the Zaporizhzhya NPP, a blow was struck on a special building of the station. About it informs agency “RIA Novosti” with reference to the statement of the military-civilian administration (CAA) of the city of Energodar.
“Artillery strikes were recorded in the following places: a special building of the nuclear power plant, a communication ceiling to the right of the special building, a concrete fence. A container with distilled water was damaged in the immediate vicinity of the second power unit,” the VGA said.
It is clarified that there are no data on the victims. The technological process is also not threatened. Currently, emergency services are liquidating the consequences of the strike on the ZNPP.
On the eve of the head of the Energodar CAA, Alexander Volga, announced another shelling of the station. As a result, one of the shells hit the power unit. He clarified that there is no increase in the radiation background in the area of the station.
Last week, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that the Ukrainian military had attempted to seize the power plant. However, Russian aviation struck the landing force, destroying 20 boats and boats.
On September 1, an IAEA mission arrived at the ZNPP territory. The experts inspected the territory of the station, accompanied by representatives of the Russian “Rosatom” and employees of the station. The delegations also showed the sections of the facility that had suffered from shelling by the Ukrainian military.
Today the IAEA specialists left the station. Two experts of the organization remained at the facility as observers. Earlier, the head of the CAA of the Zaporozhye region, Vladimir Rogov, reported that the IAEA mission would end on September 6. The IAEA is expected to submit a report on the ZNPP visit to the organization’s board of governors early next week.
