In the Zaporozhye region, the defense line was strengthened due to the large concentration of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) on the front line. About this agency “RIA Novosti” informed member of the pro-Russian military-civilian administration (VGA) of the region Vladimir Rogov.

“Our army is ready to meet and repulse Ukrainian militants if they decide to go on the offensive. The line of defense has been strengthened. Reserves have been increased,” he said.

Formerly Rogov toldthat Ukrainian troops began to accumulate a large amount of equipment and manpower on the line of contact in the Zaporozhye region. Rogov assessed the situation on the line of contact as difficult, but manageable. At the same time, the Armed Forces of Ukraine made several attempts to “reconnaissance in force” in this direction, he added.

Prior to this, Rogov also informed about the plans of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to carry out an attack in the area of ​​the Zaporozhye NPP. He clarified that Kyiv is deploying HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS), M777 howitzers, etc. to the line of contact.

The counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has been going on since the end of August. Ukrainian troops made attempts to advance in the Nikolaev and Kherson regions in three directions. Then the Russian Defense Ministry said that Russian troops repelled the attack. According to the agency, more than 1,200 Ukrainian servicemen were killed as a result.

At the beginning of September, offensive attempts continued. However, the Russian military said that Ukraine’s actions were unsuccessful, the enemy suffered heavy losses. After that, according to the Ministry of Defense, Kyiv stopped the offensive in the Nikolaev-Krivoy Rog direction.

At the same time, on September 10, the Russian military department reported on the withdrawal of troops from Izyum and Balakleya in the Kharkiv region to the territory of the DPR. In the CAA of the Kharkiv region explainedthat in the Kharkov direction the number of the Armed Forces of Ukraine exceeded the Russian troops by eight times.
