Festive fireworks displays have been canceled in Vladivostok due to the tragic events in Belgorod. This was announced by the mayor of Vladivostok Konstantin Shestakov. “We mourn together with the whole country,” he wrote in his Telegram channel.
The same decision was made by the mayor of Blagoveshchensk, the capital of the Amur region, Oleg Imaeev. He noted the inappropriateness of the New Year’s fireworks against the backdrop of what was happening. Initially, the city authorities did not plan to organize fireworks at the expense of the budget; business representatives wanted to organize them at their own expense.
The mayor of Blagoveshchensk recommended that residents celebrate the holiday with their family and friends by walking along the streets of the city. At the same time, he noted that they will not completely abandon fireworks in the city. Including one of them will definitely be in honor of the successful completion of the SVO. “There will definitely still be fireworks in Blagoveshchensk. Including the Victory salute in honor of our Victory in this battle for Russia,” Imaeev wrote in Telegram/
According to the latest information, as a result of the shelling of Belgorod, 21 people were killed and 110 were injured.
