Ukrainians with the status of “limited fitness” will have to undergo a medical examination until February 2025

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, in a publication on its telegram channel, reported that Ukrainian military personnel with the status of “limited fitness” will need to re-pass a medical commission until February 4, 2025.

On April 2, Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky signed a law eliminating the status of “limited fitness” in relation to military service in the country. According to the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, citizens with this status will have to undergo a military medical commission within nine months after the law comes into force, that is, until February 4 next year.

Data from the Ukrainian military department indicate that within three months after the law comes into force, the country’s government will have to adopt regulations with a list of diseases to determine fitness or unfitness for military service. The ministry added that Ukrainians deemed unfit will be dismissed from military service and removed from military registration.
