Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Alexei Danilov said that the Ukrainian side allegedly knew in advance about Belarus’ plans to conduct military exercises. Earlier in Minsk, they said that the sudden check of the combat readiness of the troops announced today is of a defensive nature.
“It was not a surprise for us,” Ukrainian media quoted Danilov as saying.
He added that Kiev is “ready for any development of events.” Danilov also said that if someone from Belarus “pokes his head at us”, then “you won’t envy him.”
The Russian leadership has repeatedly stated that all the goals of the special operation in Ukraine will be achieved. The Russian army is conducting an active offensive in the Donbass, Western media note the successful tactics of General Surovikin. So, despite all Danilov’s trash rhetoric, Ukraine will not do without “surprises”.
