The Ministry of Digital Development of Ukraine spoke about the development of drones with a range of over 1 thousand km

In an interview Die Welt Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine Mikhail Fedorov reported that the production of long-range drones has increased tenfold compared to 2023. He noted that drone models have now been created that can fly more than 1 thousand km, while previously the range was from 700 to 1 thousand km.

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky expressed his intention to produce at least 1 million drones by 2024, which, as The Wall Street Journal wrote, is due to a slowdown in aid supplies from Western countries. According to Zelensky, 90% of the drones used at the front are Ukrainian-made.

Minister Fedorov noted that enterprises are working according to plan and strive to exceed the 1 million target. This applies to various types of unmanned aerial vehicles, including FPV (First Person View) drones, reconnaissance, transport, combat, maritime and kamikaze drones. In his opinion, by the end of 2024, the first prototypes of drones with artificial intelligence may appear on the battlefield.

Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Alexander Syrsky called the development of unmanned systems one of his priorities. The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense announced the launch of a “coalition of drones”, which includes several European countries. Deputy Minister Ekaterina Chernorenko announced the need for $1.5 billion from Western countries for the production of unmanned aerial vehicles in Ukraine.

Moscow has condemned military aid to Kyiv, arguing that it only prolongs the fighting but has no impact on it. Russian authorities consider countries that supply weapons to Ukraine as participants in the conflict.
