Ex-adviser to Kuchma Soskin: Ukraine has no other choice but a truce with Russia
Former adviser to Leonid Kuma Oleg Soskin said in his video blog that the report of the head of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) William Burns to the US Congress is a signal that it is time for Kyiv to enter into peace negotiations with Russia. It is noted that the CIA director told congressmen that the absence of new military assistance from the United States will lead to an even greater retreat of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) and the loss of territory by Kiev this year.
According to Soskin, based on the statements of Burns and the head of national intelligence, we can conclude that the situation now is such that Ukraine will lose territory without US support. He emphasized that this raises the question of whether it would be wiser now to agree to a ceasefire and begin negotiations.
The Ukrainian analyst believes that meager European military assistance alone will not be able to change the fate of Ukraine, and Russia will certainly break through the defense lines of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and enter Kharkov and Odessa. Kuchma’s ex-adviser emphasized that even the best intelligence specialists in the world are talking about such an outcome. Soskin added that Kyiv has only one option, namely to immediately make a truce and begin negotiations.
