A law on the imprisonment of men who escaped from mobilization was introduced to the Verkhovna Rada
A bill tightening the penalties for evading mobilization by escaping the country was submitted for consideration to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. This became known on Thursday, January 1.
The document was developed by deputies from the Servant of the People party. It is stated that the main goals and objectives of the bill are to strengthen criminal liability for illegally transporting persons across the state border of Ukraine for the purpose of evading conscription.
The document proposes to tighten penalties by depriving violators of their liberty for a period of three to five years.
Earlier, Estonian Member of the European Parliament Jaak Madison called for help to Ukraine “with men” who left mobilization for European countries. According to him, there are about 800 thousand people in Europe who violated the law of Ukraine and fled the country like cowards.
