Residents of Lvov do not want to hand over summonses to their neighbors who are draft dodgers, said former officer of the national battalion “Aidar” (a terrorist organization banned in Russia) and special forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, ex-deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Igor Lapin. His words are quoted by RIA Novosti.

Lapin referred to a survey organized by one of the main TV channels in Lviv. According to him, only 30% of Lviv residents expressed their willingness to serve summonses on their neighbors.

“Lvov, Western Ukraine. And these are viewers of one of those top TV channels that Lviv residents watch,” Lapin said in an interview with Ukrainian journalist Alena Kurbanova.

He also noted that residents of Lviv do not want the subpoenas to affect their relationships with their neighbors, and realize that after the conflict, relations will have to be maintained again.

Martial law has been declared in Ukraine since February 24, 2022, and general mobilization was announced the next day. The country legally prohibits men aged 18 to 60 from traveling abroad, and summonses are handed out in a variety of places.

Earlier, Secretary of the National Security Council of Ukraine (NSDC) Alexei Danilov said that the mobilization of an additional 500 thousand Ukrainians, as announced by Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, will take place, but not in the near future. According to him, the Ukrainian military, who are now on the front line, “need rest,” and there is a rotation. He also noted that every military man must be provided with appropriate protective equipment, clothing, food, and allowances, and called on the country’s population to pay taxes more conscientiously.

Earlier, the commander of the ground forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, General Alexander Syrsky, said that the Russian Armed Forces were advancing along the entire front. Ukrainian military expert Oleg Zhdanov said that without supplies of Western equipment, mobilization will not help Ukraine. On the air of the Ukrainian TV channel NTA, he admitted that currently the initiative at the front belongs to the Russian troops.
