Ukrainian Prime Minister Shmygal: mobilization will be “softer” than planned

Mobilization in Ukraine will be much “softer” than previously planned. This statement was made by Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmygal in an interview with the Estonian channel ERR. He emphasized that the new Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Alexander Syrsky, conducted an audit in the army, and rotations in the combat zone began.

“We understand that we don’t need so many troops at the moment, so the mobilization is much, much quieter, softer,” Shmygal said, commenting on the journalist’s words that the figure of 500 thousand people was previously announced.

At the same time, the Ukrainian prime minister added that in 2024 Kyiv will be able to fulfill all mobilization tasks.

Let us recall that back in December 2023, during a press conference, President Vladimir Zelensky announced that the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine had approached him with a request to mobilize about 450-500 thousand people. At the same time, the head of state emphasized that a huge amount of money will be needed to implement this decision.
