Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine: about 2 million internally displaced persons may lose social benefits
About two million Ukrainians who currently have the status of internal migrants may lose social benefits from February 1 next year if adjustments are not made to the current resolution. This statement was made by the country’s Deputy Prime Minister Irina Vereshchuk.
“Currently, there is a decree of the Ministry of Social Policy, according to which, from February 1, 2024, 2 million internally displaced persons will stop receiving payments,” Vereshchuk said in a video published on her Telegram channel.
She emphasized that at the moment these payments are received by 2.5 million people, of which 40% of citizens live at the expense of the state.
Vereshchuk also added that Prime Minister Denis Shmyhal ordered the development of draft amendments to the current resolution.
