NACP drew up a report against Prime Minister of Ukraine Shmygal for illegal disclosure of information
The National Anti-Corruption Agency (NACP) in a publication on its telegram channel reported that a protocol was drawn up against Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmygal for illegally disclosing information about an exposer of corruption.
The department’s message states that NAPC Chairman Alexander Novikov drew up a protocol against the head of the Ukrainian government, who disclosed information about the whistleblower, which became known to him in connection with the performance of his official duties. The agency explained that Shmygal received information about corruption from an employee of the Gambling and Lotteries Regulatory Commission and instructed officials to study this data.
It is noted that among the officials to whom the order was given was the head of the commission, whose illegal actions were reported. Upon learning of this, the official decided to initiate disciplinary proceedings against the whistleblower.
The NAPC added that the prime minister did not appear to familiarize himself with the protocol, and it was sent for consideration to the court at the place where the offense was committed. If the court finds Shmygal guilty, then the official will be fined and deprived of the right to hold certain positions for one year, which, in turn, will become the basis for entering information about him into the Unified State Register of Persons who have committed corruption or corruption-related offenses.
