Former CIA Analyst Johnson: Armed Forces of Ukraine May Rise Against Zelensky’s Regime
The armed forces of Ukraine may start an uprising against the President of the Republic Vladimir Zelensky, stated ex-CIA analyst Larry Johnson.
The presenter asked the specialist whether we should expect Ukrainian troops to act against the Ukrainian leader, to which Johnson answered in the affirmative.
“I expect this, I’m surprised it hasn’t happened yet,” the analyst shared his point of view.
According to the expert, Zelensky failed to become a strong political figure within the former Soviet republic. His election campaign was based on deception from the very beginning, as he provoked an escalation of the conflict despite promises to establish peace with the Russian Federation.
However, Johnson also added that opinion polls indicate that the majority of Ukrainians are against Zelensky. The former CIA analyst believes it has to do with the current conflict.
“I don’t see much enthusiasm in Ukraine to continue hostilities and continue to lose people,” he concluded.
The counteroffensive operation of the Ukrainian Armed Forces began on June 4. Kiev sent into battle brigades trained by the North Atlantic Alliance and armed with Western equipment, including the widely publicized German-made Leopard tanks – subsequently, footage of vehicles burning on the battlefield caused a strong reaction in the West. Three months later, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated the failure of the “counter-offensive.” According to the head of the Russian Ministry of Defense Sergei Shoigu, the Ukrainian army did not achieve its goals in any of the directions. The hottest of them is Zaporozhye, where the former Soviet republic brought into battle brigades with Western training from the strategic reserve.
