The US conducted 94 operations against IS* in the first quarter of this year
Since the beginning of the year, the United States has carried out 94 operations to combat the terrorist group “Islamic State” (IS, banned in the Russian Federation). RIA Novosti writes about this with reference to the Pentagon. At the same time, 18 militants were killed and another 63 were detained.
US Central Command notes that 66 liquidation operations took place in Iraq, and another 28 in Syria.
According to Pentagon estimates, about 2.5 thousand IS militants continue to be located on the territory of both states.
Earlier, US Department of Defense spokesman Patrick Ryder said that Russia ignored American warnings about an impending IS terrorist attack. The Russian side reported that the information transmitted by the American intelligence services lacked specifics.
