The British Army is facing significant challenges due to a shortage of cybersecurity specialists. The Telegraph writes about this, it cites the opinion of the managing director for defense and security of the outsourcing IT company Capita, Richard Holroyd.
Holroyd notes that this problem is especially relevant in the face of a growing threat from hackers. According to him, there is strong competition in the market now, and it is difficult for the military to compete with companies such as the American Raytheon Technologies or the British British Telecom (BT).
Holroyd noted that even this year the army will find it difficult to find even 80% of the required specialists, while it is facing a shortage of even specialists in such specialties as a cook or a driver. According to him, the authorities failed to increase the population’s interest in military service.
