Over the ten months of 2023, agricultural organizations in the Stavropol region produced 333 million chicken eggs, which is 28.4% more than in the same period in 2022. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Economic Development of the region with reference to the head of the ministry Denis Polyubin.

According to the data provided by Mr. Polyubin, retail prices for eggs in the region “are at the average level in the ranking of regions of the Russian Federation and lower than in the constituent entities of the Southern and North Caucasus federal districts.” As the official clarified, in the Stavropol Territory the average cost of a dozen eggs is 101.76 rubles, in the Southern Federal District – 112.93 rubles, in the North Caucasus Federal District – 109.84 rubles, in the Russian Federation – 107.27 rubles. According to him, retail chains have taken on additional obligations to limit prices for socially important food products, including eggs and chicken meat, and “the size of the trade margin does not exceed 10 percent.”

Nevertheless, the ministry believes that “inflationary pressure remains relatively high both in the country and, in particular, in the Stavropol Territory,” which may affect price changes.

The regional administration of the Federal Antimonopoly Service of Russia, in turn, sent requests to companies producing chicken eggs to analyze how correctly, taking into account all the factors affecting production, the wholesale selling prices for this type of product were set.
