RBC reported details of the case of counterfeit production of sneakers in the Vladimir region

The police opened two criminal cases after discovering 640 thousand pairs of counterfeit sneakers in the Vladimir region. Employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs discovered counterfeit production of New Balance, Adidas, Puma, Nike and Reebok, reports RBC.

The fact that in one of the workshops of a limited liability company, which specialized in the production of its own brand of shoes, migrants also produced sneakers under popular international brands, reported Representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Irina Volk November 1. She spoke about the initiation of a criminal case and the detention of two managers of the company. According to her, the finished goods were sold through large trading platforms in the Moscow region.

The investigative department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the city of Gus-Khrustalny opened two criminal cases under the article on the illegal use of copyright marks (Part 3 of Article 180 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), RBC clarifies. The maximum penalty under this article is imprisonment for four years.

According to the source, in October, in the village of Vashutino in the Gus-Khrustalny district of the Vladimir region, employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs discovered a production facility containing about 40 thousand pairs of New Balance and Puma sneakers, about 100 thousand pairs of Adidas, Ecco and Nike shoes. There, the Ministry of Internal Affairs found blanks for making Reebok shoes.

Then employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs visited the warehouse premises rented by the company. About half a million more pairs of shoes with signs of counterfeit were discovered there. The department reported that after several pairs of shoes were seized for examination, the entire batch of sneakers disappeared from the warehouse.
