The Ukrainian military hit Luhansk with a rocket with a cluster part, believes retired Lieutenant Colonel of the People’s Militia of the LPR Andrei Marochko.
According to him, the inhabitants of the city heard the work of air defense in the southwest at about 10:00 am, after which there were “roaring explosions, very similar to cluster munition explosions.”
“I can assume that it was a long-range missile, but with a cluster part. But what kind of rocket was used by Ukrainian militants, I can’t say for sure yet,” said Marochko TASS.
“RIA News” wrotethat a series of explosions occurred in the area of the Southern quarters on the outskirts of Lugansk. The authorities of the region have not yet reported the consequences.
On July 7, the White House announced the transfer of cluster munitions to Kyiv. Washington said Ukraine had provided the United States with written assurances that the ammunition would be used “with care.” On July 13, the Pentagon announced that weapons were already in Ukraine. The Russian Foreign Ministry considered such a step a “gesture of desperation,” and Denis Pushilin, acting head of the DPR, stressed that the transfer of cluster munitions would not affect the course of the special operation. The Kremlin warned that if Ukraine uses such weapons, Russia will be forced to take countermeasures.
