More than half of the residents of the city of Kremennaya in the Luhansk People’s Republic (LPR) were evacuated due to constant shelling from the Armed Forces of Ukraine (APU), former LPR Ambassador to Moscow Rodion Miroshnik told TASS.

“From the city of Kremennaya to the front line – no more than 6-7 km. Artillery cannonade sounds almost around the clock. Today shelling was in the center of the city from 155 mm artillery. Mortar and grenade attacks do not even get into the statistics, but they arrive, ” said Miroshnik.

According to him, about 18,000 people previously lived in the city, more than half of the inhabitants left. Authorities and services continue to work on a truncated schedule and in a reduced composition, this is due to the shelling and the lack of electricity and communications, Miroshnik added.

He added that gas is supplied to Kremennaya “more or less steadily”, people receive water according to the schedule, but there is no Internet and mobile communications.

“Electricity in most houses in Kremennaya last month was only a few days. Because of this, not everyone can use gas for heating. Most of the heating boilers are electrically ignited and controlled,” the former LPR ambassador said, adding that people in the city do not have enough medicines, and the pharmacies themselves are not enough.
