As a result of the shelling of the armed forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the Shebekinsky urban district of the Belgorod region, power supply was disrupted. This was announced by the head of the region Vyacheslav Gladkov.
“As a result of the shelling of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Shebekinsky urban district, power supply was disrupted. About 14,000 residents remain without electricity, ”- wrote he is in his Telegram channel.
Gladkov clarified that emergency teams have begun reconnecting to backup power sources.
Earlier today, Gladkov described December 18 as “an extremely difficult day.” In his Telegram channel, he said that as a result of shelling the day before in Belgorod and the Belgorod region, one person was killed and 10 were injured. In addition, 75 buildings, apartments and about 40 cars were destroyed.
In Krasnaya Yaruga, two local residents were injured: a girl received shrapnel wounds, and a man was shell-shocked. 8 premises and two cars were also damaged.
During the operational meeting of the government of the region, Gladkov also declared about the ineffectiveness of shelling warning systems in the region. According to him, SMS messages come to people 1.5 hours after the end of the shelling.
After the start of the special operation, the Ukrainian military began to regularly shell the border regions of Russia. Since April 11, a high (“yellow”) level of terrorist threat has been in effect in the Belgorod region. On December 6, it was extended until December 21. In Belgorod and the Belgorod region, distance learning has been extended until March 24.
