Swiss citizens cast a majority of votes for the right-wing conservative People’s Party in the elections of deputies to the National Council. At the same time, the right-wing conservatives managed to significantly outpace the Social Democratic Party.
In the election campaign, the winning People’s Party emphasized limiting migration and also criticized the government for moving away from the principle of military neutrality by supporting sanctions against Russia over the Ukrainian conflict.
