The St. Petersburg City Court today, March 27, satisfied the claim of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Justice for St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region (GU Ministry of Justice for St. Petersburg and Leningrad Region) on the liquidation of the regional branch of the People’s Freedom Party – PARNAS. The meeting was held without the participation of party representatives.

On February 6, the Ministry of Justice filed a lawsuit in court to liquidate the branch of PARNAS in connection with the violation of the law “On Political Parties”. “The violations are due to the fact that the party, apparently due to lack of activity, did not draw up minutes on general meetings and did not send reports. During the inspection, the department was unable to provide us with all these documents,” said a representative of the Ministry of Justice at one of the court hearings.

Earlier, in November 2022, the city court suspended the activities of the St. Petersburg branch for a month. According to the Ministry of Justice, the party did not provide reports on the conference, the continuation of its activities and the change of leadership. The department had to correct the shortcomings by December 1.

In December last year, the head of the St. Petersburg branch of PARNAS and the deputy of the Palace District, Natalya Gryaznevich, was included in the register of foreign agents.
