In September, the payment behavior of Russians returned to the indicators of the beginning of the year

The payment behavior of Russians returned to the indicators before the change in the socio-economic situation in the country, showed the operational socio-economic monitoring Analytical Center NAFI. The share of respondents who prefer non-cash payment for goods and services in September even exceeded the pre-crisis level. According to the latest data, a little more than one in four respondents prefers to pay in cash. Peak indicators of cash settlements were recorded in March-April.

As Leysan Baimuratova, director of research in the field of digital economy at NAFI, noted, the last measurement in September was carried out even before the announcement of partial mobilization. It may affect the financial behavior of Russians, provoking a new increase in the popularity of cash payments.
