In Russia they proposed to increase the amount of fees for divorce

The State Duma proposed removing fees for marriage and increasing the fee for divorce. This initiative was made by Vice Speaker of the State Duma Vladislav Davankov from the New People party.
Vladislav Davankov sent to the Russian government for consideration a bill providing for the introduction of some changes to Article 333.26 of the Tax Code of the Russian Federation. Thus, he proposed setting a fee of 350 rubles for concluding a marriage and increasing it for divorce to 1,200 rubles.
In his report, Davankov indicated that this project will not entail losses to the country’s budget, since the size of the divorce fee will double.
The abolition of the fee for marriage will be a symbolic factor. The vice speaker believes that the state should not take money for this, as this is an atavism.
