The growth in the number of resumes is associated with the influx of candidates who have completed online courses, as well as with the desire of specialists to find or have, just in case, a variant of a company that is more resistant to sanctions risks, said Natalya Danina, Chief Labor Market Expert, HeadHunter’s Head of Client Efficiency .
According to the President of the Russoft Association, Valentin Makarov, many Russian employees of foreign companies who ceased their activities in Russia did not eventually go abroad.
“Because their qualifications are usually quite high, in the spring and early summer they were gladly hired by Russian companies – in larger numbers than usual – for the expansion of their business, which was made possible due to the departure of foreign competitors. As a result, by the middle of summer, not only the current vacancies of companies, but also promising ones were filled, and the demand for developers fell sharply, ” told Makarov. In addition, there is a trend towards the return of specialists from the CIS countries and Europe who left the country, he added.
In May, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said that about 85% of IT specialists who left the country after the start of a special operation in Ukraine returned to Russia. According to him, the measures taken by the government in connection with the current situation are “prompt responses to emerging challenges.” According to the Russian Association for Electronic Communications (RAEC), 50,000–70,000 IT specialists left Russia in March, and another 70,000–100,000 left in April.
