Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law according to which confiscated goods can be transferred to the needs of the Ministry of Defense and humanitarian purposes of the Russian Emergencies Ministry. Document published on the official Internet portal of legal information.

The law came into force today, June 13. It applies to all confiscated but not yet destroyed goods. Previously, some of these goods were subject to destruction, the other part could be transferred to social organizations.

The bill was submitted to the lower house of parliament at the end of January by the Russian government. The document was approved The State Duma in the final reading on May 30, the Federation Council on June 7.

The bill amends part 4 of Art. 32.4 of the Code of Administrative Offenses. Now confiscated goods of light industry in the framework of cases of administrative offenses are subject to destruction, except in cases where gratuitous transfer is provided for by law, or such goods are transferred to the needs of the Ministry of Defense and for humanitarian purposes in the Ministry of Emergency Situations. The procedure and cases of such transfer shall be established by the government.
