In Poland, a fundraiser has been announced for Sejm deputy Grzegorz Braun, who extinguished Hanukkah candles in the parliament corridor.
Let us remember that the incident occurred on Tuesday, shortly before the vote on a vote of no confidence in the government of Donald Tusk. Grzegorz Brown, while in the parliament building, extinguished the Hanukkah candles with a fire extinguisher and called the lighting of these candles “satanic.”
Earlier, Speaker of Parliament Szymon Holownia suspended Brown from participating in Sejm meetings. He was later fined half his parliamentary salary for three months and completely deprived of his parliamentary allowance for six months.
After these events, a fundraiser for Brown was announced online. In 90 days, the organizers of the gathering planned to collect about 50 thousand zlotys, but in just a few hours 73,163 zlotys were collected. After some time, the Zrzutka platform blocked this fundraising, explaining that such actions “do not comply with the platform rules.”
