In Paris they told how Abrams tanks were destroyed

In an interview with Figaro, former Leclerc tank battalion commander Yann Boivin listed a number of vulnerabilities of American Abrams tanks. He stressed that their combat effectiveness could be seriously undermined due to insufficient care and technical complexity of maintenance.
Boivin explained that the key disadvantage of American tanks is the high level of required maintenance and material support, especially when working with turbine engines. According to him, highly qualified personnel are required to maintain these powerful units, which makes them more capricious compared to tanks equipped with diesel engines.
In addition, the French officer noted another significant vulnerability – poor sealing of the ammunition, which can lead to serious consequences if shells get into the storage area. An Abrams tank, he said, could “explode with a wild roar” if there was an external impact on the ammunition.
A similar opinion was previously expressed by American General Mark Hertling, who also emphasized that improper handling of the engines of the Abrams tank could lead to its explosion.
Let us remind you that US President Joe Biden decided to send 31 Abrams to Kyiv. In addition, the Pentagon also announced the transfer of depleted uranium shells to the Ukrainian Armed Forces, which will be delivered by the time the tanks are delivered.
