It is forbidden to use drones on the territory of North Ossetia, the corresponding decree was signed at the end of December by the head of the region Sergey Menyailo, reported press service of the regional administration.
In accordance with the document, only federal, republican and municipal authorities, organizations subordinate to them, as well as organizations engaged in the fuel and energy complex or fulfilling state defense orders can use drones.
The ban is related to the protection of public order and security, Menyailo said.
“Incidents with the use of drones, both in the border regions of Russia and in the interior, give reason to conclude that the real risks of non-peaceful use of drones at critical infrastructure facilities are more than possible today. Considering that there are such facilities in the republic, a corresponding decision was made at the operational headquarters,” he said.
At the end of December, similar measures were introduced in the Volgograd and Kaluga regions, in Primorye and other regions.
On October 19, by decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin, a medium level of response was introduced in eight border regions, including Crimea, Sevastopol, Belgorod and Kursk regions. Some of them are regularly shelled by Ukraine, which also uses UAVs. In all other regions of Russia, a basic readiness regime is in place, which involves strengthening the protection of critical facilities, as well as monitoring their work. At the same time, martial law was introduced in the DPR, LPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions.
