ANP: Niger announced preparations for intervention by two African countries
Two Central African countries are sending an army to participate in the military intervention in Niger. The ANP agency writes about this, referring to the military, who removed the head of the country from power.
Earlier, the Presidential Guard of Niger restricted the airspace of the state due to the demand of the Economic Community of West African Countries (ECOWAS) to return President Mohamed Bazum to power. If the ultimatum was not fulfilled, the organization threatened to intervene to restore the order.
The National Council for the Salvation of the Homeland in Niger reported last night that it was already seeing signs of a foreign country preparing to “attack our lands.” The Council noted that in the event of an invasion, the country’s troops would defend the territorial unity of Niger.
In connection with incoming reports of an imminent intervention, the Niger army has deployed additional forces to areas nearby Nigeria and Benin.
