In Moldova, the leader of the opposition Shor party, Ilan Shor, said that the country needed to create a National Salvation Committee against the backdrop of approaching a socio-economic catastrophe due to high energy prices.
Recall that the opposition has been organizing mass protests in Chisinau for about a month against the backdrop of a sharp rise in prices for gas, other energy resources and food, as well as a jump in inflation.
“Moldova is on the verge of a socio-economic catastrophe. Gas and electricity can be turned off for the inhabitants of the republic from day to day. And if they don’t turn it off, then the people … they will give all their money and savings for utility bills,” Shor said.
He added that in such a situation, in a normal democratic society, citizens have the right to demand the resignation of the government.
“If the government does not listen, then the people have the right to announce the National Salvation Committee, which will rule the country,” the oppositionist added.
