Kyiv was subjected to the most massive drone attack since the start of hostilities on the night of May 28. About it told head of the city military administration Sergei Popko.

“It was the most massive <...> drone attack on the capital. <...> The attack was carried out in several waves, and the air raid lasted more than five hours, ”Popko was quoted as saying by the press service of the military administration.

Earlier, the mayor of the city Vitaliy Klitschko reported about the explosions in the Ukrainian capital. According to him, a 41-year-old man died as a result of a “drone wreckage” in the Solomensky district, and one woman was also injured. In addition, a 7-storey non-residential building was damaged, which subsequently caught fire.

On May 8, Klitschko also spoke about the most massive attack since the start of the military operation in Ukraine. Then, according to his estimates, about 60 drones were launched, 36 of which were directed towards Kyiv.

Since the beginning of the military operation in Ukraine, cases of drone attacks on Russian regions have become more frequent. The Belgorod region is regularly shelled by Ukraine. May 27 Governor of the region Vyacheslav Gladkov told about a downed drone in the village of Popovka.

In early February, Russian President Vladimir Putin called on the Defense Ministry to prevent shelling of Russia’s border regions. He also repeatedly pointed out that the response to Ukrainian strikes on Russian territory would be harsh.
