In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine criticized the Prime Minister of the federal state of Saxony, Michael Kretschmer, in connection with his statements about the possible loss of territories by Kiev in the framework of negotiations with Russia.
According to the press secretary of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry Oleg Nikolenko, such a scenario will lead to the fact that “the Russian army will be located closer to Germany and Saxony in particular.”
The report also notes that the only possible change in German policy towards Russia could be even greater support for Kyiv. Nikolenko believes that the country’s concessions on territories could lead to the conflict extending beyond the borders of Ukraine. Peace, in his opinion, can only come if Moscow is defeated.
Earlier, the head of the government of Saxony, Michael Kretschmer, in an interview with the Funke media group, expressed the opinion that Kyiv may have to admit the loss of its territories in order to launch the negotiation process with the Russian side.
