The Kyiv City Council at a meeting held on October 27 decided to rename over 40 streets, lanes and squares, whose names were associated with Russia and the Soviet past of Ukraine.
According to the mayor of the Ukrainian capital, Vitaliy Klitschko, the new names were chosen by the people of Kiev. 296 objects were submitted for voting, which were previously selected by the expert commission.
Voting took place in the Kyiv Digital application. The most popular titles entered the session hall of the Kyiv City Council.
