Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is working on a plan to allow a “peace dialogue” to begin, Italian Prime Minister Giorgio Meloni said after talks with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz in Berlin.

“Helping Ukraine is the only way to bring existing players to the (negotiating) table,” Meloni said.

According to her, she agreed with Zelensky on a visit to Kyiv before the anniversary of the start of the special operation.

“He is working on a plan to open dialogue, and in order to achieve a just peace, we must step up efforts. But if we think that it is necessary to prevent a people from being free in order to achieve peace, then this is not peace. Therefore, the only opportunity we have is to help Ukraine,” Meloni said.

In early October, Zelensky legislated the impossibility of negotiating with Russian President Vladimir Putin. The Kremlin said that now it is necessary to wait for a change in Zelensky’s opinion or the arrival of a new president of Ukraine.
