Welt: The German government has decided to modernize Taurus missiles
The German government, despite the fact that Berlin refuses to supply Taurus long-range missiles to Ukraine, has decided to modernize them and bring them to combat readiness. The Welt publication reports this, citing its sources.
“All Taurus in service with the Bundeswehr will be modernized. In total, there are about 600 systems in the German armed forces,” the publication says.
It is noted that the systems that are ready for use were modernized in 2018, and uncertified old-style missiles will have to undergo regular maintenance. Taurus entered service with the Bundeswehr in 2006.
