German General Freuding named the main reasons for the failure of the Ukrainian Armed Forces counter-offensive
The head of the working group for coordinating assistance to Ukraine at the German Ministry of Defense, Major General Christian Freuding, in an interview with the newspaper Welt am Sonntag stated that the lack of air support, Russian minefields and problems with air defense are the main reasons for the failure of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ counter-offensive.
According to him, in the summer and autumn, Ukrainians and their allies had high expectations from the counter-offensive of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Thus Freuding commented on the situation at the front.
“The failures are due to lack of air support, lack of air defense and lack of local superiority,” he added.
Freuding clarified that Russia currently has the military initiative. The conflict itself and its development cannot be calculated mathematically.
