The German government considers it technically impossible to use the second string of the Nord Stream 2 pipeline after sabotage on gas pipelines.
This is stated in the response of the German Cabinet of Ministers to the request of the deputy chairman of the Alternative for Germany faction in the Bundestag Bundestag, Leifaz-Erik Holm.
“It is quite possible that strong explosions had a negative impact on both strings of the gas pipeline, in this regard, at present, there is no technical possibility of using it in principle,” the German government said in a response, excerpts from which are quoted by the Spiegel publication.
Also, the Cabinet of Ministers of the country noted that Nord Stream 2 somehow did not receive the certification necessary for its launch.
The Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines were damaged on the night of September 26, 2022. As a result of the explosions, only one thread of Nord Stream 2 survived.
