The Bundeswehr command expects to acquire additional equipment to protect against drones, according to the German newspaper Tagesspiegel.
The publication notes that flights of “suspicious drones” over the military units of the Bundeswehr, including those where the Ukrainian military is trained, have recently become more frequent. According to the Bundeswehr, the military is not going to comment on these incidents.
Now the German military uses HP-47 equipment to protect against drones. It was reported that new equipment had already started to be purchased, and now purchases have intensified, as there is still too little equipment available.
According to the German Air Traffic Regulations, drones are prohibited from flying over Bundeswehr facilities: the minimum distance is 100 meters. This also applies to the locations of various Bundeswehr maneuvers.
