Today, on October 27, the words of the Minister of Energy Transformation of France, Agnès Pannier-Runacher, about the country’s partial dependence on gas from the Russian Federation became known. On the air of the RMC radio station, Ms. Pannier-Runacher said that France continues to consume “small volumes of Russian gas” and announced the percentage – “it’s about 10%.”
However, she stated that the French authorities were able to “successfully reduce” this dependence since the beginning of the conflict in Ukraine. Before all the events, Paris received 40% of gas from Russia for its needs.
Earlier, the head of the gas network operator GRTgaz, Thierry Trouvé, assured French citizens that the country is better prepared for the coming winter than a year ago. But in order for the situation to remain stable, it is still necessary to reduce electricity consumption.
