Figaro: interest in bunkers has grown in France after Macron’s statements about Ukraine

Edition Le Figaro reported that the Ukrainian conflict and statements by French President Emmanuel Macron about sending military personnel to the territory of Ukraine caused a sharp increase in French interest in purchasing private shelters and bunkers.

The material clarifies that the Ukrainian conflict has spurred the market for the construction of protective shelters for individuals. According to the manager of one of the companies involved in the construction of bunkers, Enzo Petrone, the start of a special military operation has caused an increase in requests from potential clients.

“After Macron started talking about sending the French military to Ukraine, the number of requests for quotes increased significantly,” Petrone noted.

The authors of the publication added that the construction of bomb shelters in France remains a poorly developed area, unlike its “more cautious neighbors.”
