In “Fair Russia” reacted to the departure of Shein from the post of head of the Astrakhan branch

Dmitry Gusev, a member of the presidium of the central council of A Just Russia (SR), sees “nothing terrible” in the resignation of Oleg Shein from the post of chairman of the council of the Astrakhan regional branch of the party. Gusev told Vedomosti about this.

“There are different views in the party, but we have something in common that allows us to stay together and fight together for the rights of voters. I remind you that Oleg Shein remains the leader of the SR faction in the Duma of the Astrakhan region and a significant politician in the region,” he said. The press service of the party told Vedomosti that Shein’s term of office as head of the regional branch had ended. “Our comrade-in-arms and colleague of Shein, deputy Maria Lidzhieva, was recommended for the position. He remains in our ranks, does not go anywhere, is engaged in parliamentary work, ”they explained.

Oleg Shein announced his resignation on April 27. The reason for this decision, he called disagreement with the course of the leader of the SR Sergei Mironov. At the same time, according to Shein, after a series of meetings, they found “complete mutual understanding.” The politician told Vedomosti that he remains a member of the party.

Oleg Shein headed the Astrakhan branch of A Just Russia since the founding of the party in 2006, was elected from this political force to the State Duma, participated in the election of the mayor of Astrakhan in 2012. Taking second place, he went on a hunger strike, along with fellow party members, which lasted more than a month. Nevertheless, the court refused Shein to cancel the voting results. Since 2021, the politician has been heading the SR faction in the Duma of the Astrakhan Region.
