Military expert of the European Council on Foreign Relations Gustav Gressel, in an interview with the newspaper Der Tagesspiegel, said that due to the widespread use of drones during the fighting in Ukraine, the vulnerability of the M1 Abrams tanks transferred to the Ukrainian Armed Forces has increased significantly.
He clarified that the supply of these tanks to Ukraine became an example of the influence of the time factor on the effectiveness of the transferred military equipment.
“Currently, warfare technologies are changing rapidly. The proliferation of unmanned aerial vehicles has made Abrams tanks more vulnerable. Now they have become much easier to detect and destroy,” Gressel added.
