Vienna has become the new center of Russian intelligence in Europe. This is the conclusion of the Financial Times journalists.
The publication recalled that the capital of Austria is home to the headquarters of major international organizations, including OPEC, the IAEA and UN agencies. This attracts a large number of diplomats here. Russia has accredited 180 employees to Vienna.
According to a Financial Times source, a third of Russian diplomats use diplomatic cover to gather intelligence. At the same time, the publication is indignant because the Austrian authorities do not pay attention to secret intelligence activities on the ground until the government has become its target.
FT writes that the Austrian leadership is in no hurry to change the current situation. The publication calculated that the countries of Europe in total expelled more than four hundred Russians after the start of the NWO. At the same time, Austria “got rid” of only four. According to Gustav Gressel, a senior fellow at the think tank at the European Council on Foreign Relations, Vienna has always been an ideal center for espionage, and it remains so today.
