In China, they announced the “loss of speechlessness” by the Western media after the article about “Nord Streams”

The Chinese Foreign Ministry said that the Western media speculated on the culprit of the Nord Stream explosions, but after the publication of the investigation of the Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Seymour Hersh, they “were speechless.” This was announced by the official representative of the Ministry Wang Wenbin at a briefing, writes TASS.

“When the detailed report by American investigative journalist Hersh was published, these media outlets, which have always promoted freedom, professionalism and justice, were collectively speechless,” he said.

On February 8, Hersh published an article – an investigation into the explosion at Nord Stream, in which he claimed involvement in the undermining of the intelligence services of Norway and the United States. According to the journalist, divers during NATO exercises in the summer of 2022 installed explosives under the Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines. Later journalist clarifiedthat, in his opinion, the American authorities did this so that Germany would not abandon support for Ukraine because of cheap gas.

Moscow drew attention to the journalist’s investigation. In particular, on February 16, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov called on the foreign press to investigate the details of the article about blowing up gas pipelines. The Russian Embassy in the United States, in turn, urged the US authorities to prove their non-involvement in the explosions of pipelines. “The United States, claiming to be the source of the ‘ultimate truth’, would do well to move from empty accusations against us to action,” said Igor Girenko, spokesman for the diplomatic mission.

The Nord Stream incident occurred on September 26, 2022. At that time, two leaks were discovered in both gas pipelines, which were located in the exclusive economic zone (EEZ) of Sweden, and two more in the Danish EEZ. Initially, Russia, together with Denmark and Sweden, agreed to conduct a joint investigation, but later this idea was abandoned. Sweden has already completed an investigation, but the names of those responsible for the incident have not been named.
